Soup Kitchen

Our soup kitchen started in February 1994 in response to several people asking for food following the evening services. Based at the Muswell Hill Baptist Church, volunteers come from different local churches and it is the ‘Muswell Hill Churches Soup Kitchen.’

We are open five nights a week, Sunday through Thursday. Doors open 7.45pm-8.45pm. We normally serve a two course meal to between 30-40 people each night, a total of 8,000 meals a year.

Not all our clients are homeless. They all have needs that cause them to come for the shared meal together at the soup kitchen. Their age range is from teenagers to pensioners. We do not provide any counseling services. We do offer friendship and seek to share our faith with them and we encourage them to use all the appropriate professional services available.
